Model Railway Club

The club has layouts to ‘N’, ‘OO’, OO/9, HO and O/16.5 scales. Our Photo Archive selection contains more photos of these layouts.

“Somerton Bridge”, is a 00 Scale layout, depicting a stretch of double-track main line. This is our main display layout, and can run DCC or standard “Analogue” controlled rolling stock.

“Appleton Dene”, is a freelance O/16.5 Scale/Gauge layout, set in the 1930s. It has been featured in “Railway Modeller”© magazine.

Our OO/9 narrow gauge layout is called “Royston Wharf” and has a very detailed village area, next to the transshipment wharf.

Our “N” gauge layout, “Shaftenhoe” represents a junction station where a single-track branch leaves a double-track main line.

“Rock Ridge” is an American (HO scale) layout, featuring DCC loco control, and servo-controlled points. Pictures & Information to follow.

Club Members’ Layouts

Dan’s Layout has 2 personas; “Geeksville” is an American Terminus (HO scale) layout, and “SCB Long Road TMD” is a BR motive power servicing depot (OO Scale) layout.The layout features lighting, and DCC control of locos & points.

Tony’s layout is called “Mirkwood”, a OO/9 scale layout  (Pictures & Information to follow).
